HMS Ganges Golf Society Constitution

The name of the golf society is HMS Ganges Golf Society

The address of the Society is 35 High Street, Willingham by Stow, Lincolnshire DN21 5JZ.

We are registered with the Santander Bank and hold a "Treasurers" account. It is a requirement of the account that we have a constitution.

The aim of the Society is to; “Rekindle Friendships, Enjoy the Game, Support Worthy causes”

The officers of the Society, Chairman, Handicap Secretary, Treasurer and President will make up the committee

The committee is empowered to co-opt or replace officers as required.
The Society has an open forum to discuss any matter arising.  An AGM is conducted at the last event of the year.

The society was formed on 10th of June 2008

The Society ‘s financial year runs from 2nd of April to 1st of April and records will be made available at the AGM or if requested by members in writing.

Golf Society Membership is open to all ex-Ganges members if they are a member of the HMS Ganges Association or golfers can be invited to join as an Associate member.

The committee can terminate membership, where deemed appropriate and their decision is final.

The committee will arrange golf competitions and notice of the events will be displayed on the Ganges WhatsApp Group, Ganges Golf Website, or other media forms as appropriate.

Guest members will be allowed to play in competitions but are not entered into the Ganges or Associate members yearly competitions.

The constitution can only be amended by a majority vote at an EGM/AGM. 

The society may be dissolved by an EGM or at an AGM and must be attended by at least five members.  Any funds remaining, after all transactions are completed, will then be donated to an agreed charity.
